I.HAD.NO.IDEA!

OK, I have just discovered BLOG BACKGROUNDS!!!  OMG!!!!  LOL

The world of the internet is so huge, I learn something new every day!  I know, overkill on the exclamation marks but this is amazing.  I've admired beautiful backgrounds from afar and thought the people that had them had lots of training, or lots of money to be able to pay for the sites... ummm... not!

I simply cannot believe how easy it was to change my background... maybe I'll change it weekly! hahaha

For anyone out there that has a blog and wants to experiment with this, or for those who already know how to do it but are looking for inspiration or to expand their collection, here are the sites that I've found so far...

I'm sure I'll find more soon, and I'll be headed back to thecutestblogontheblock to see their blog templates that are coming soon!

Project 52 - Week 7

A few days late posting this...again...LOL!

After an extremely busy hockey weekend, and a busy week before that, I decided on this picture for my picture to wrap up the week.

What a weekend!  My son's hockey team is in the middle of playoffs right now and Sunday's game determined which team would be going to the Night Of Champions (a huge deal!).  It was a wonderful game; with a few hard hits, a lot of yellow-clad people cheering madly from the sidelines, lots of great teamwork, and more than a few penalty minutes, we came out victorious!

My arms were full with a wiggly, crabby, toddler, I was shooting through glass that had numerous puck-smears all over it, and the settings were off on my camera which caused lots of blurring... but I'm posting it anyways because it truly shows just how elated they all were at the end of their game!

Success in this game means that our boys will be headed to the Night of Champions and will be either 1st or 2nd in their division... either way, win or lose, they've played an amazing season and we are all so proud of them!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!GO TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

iheartfaces - "hands-on fun" entry

I've recently joined the wonderful community over at:

They have weekly photo assignments and this weeks' theme is one that I just knew I had to enter.  I really hope I'm following their directions properly! LOL!

For the "hands-on fun" assignment I chose this picture of little J's first experience at the beach.

It was such a wonderful day!

Project 52 - Week 6

After a crazy-busy hockey weekend out of town with my three kids, my weekly project 52 post is coming out a few days late.  At one point during our busy trip, I had just a few minutes (almost) to myself to grab my camera and walk around a little while the kids hung out in the van listening to music.

The things that I discovered really made me think that spring is just around the corner, from the garden ornament proudly stepping out of the snow to the moss covering the newly exposed tree branches and the melting snow dripping off the garage roof.

It is so good to think that in a few months we'll be able to run around again in our bare feet and shorts!!  YAY to spring!

Project 52 - week five

February is a month of celebrations in our family, M's birthday starts the month, mine follows shortly after and Valentine's Day is not long after that.

As the years go by, the excitement of these events fades but we always still have a cake and a little gift.  This year, H requested to be able to carry the cake to her Dad as we sang to him and she did a wonderful job... no cake on the floor or Dad's face and the candles didn't even blow out while she walked!

Happy Birthday to my dear, sweet, amazing husband... we love you so much!

Project 52 - week 4

I had a request from my son last week to come to his school and take pictures while his class had a going away party for one of their school-mates.  They cut their own veggies, rolled their own dough, made their own pizzas and ate their lunch while watching a movie.  What a great send-off for their friend, we all wish H well in his new school!

I was thrilled that J asked me to come in and take pictures of his class!  I love being involved and love that my children enjoy me being able to!  I always felt I was missing out on so many important things while I worked full time away from my family.

It ended up that J asked to take my camera, and after a few clicks and a few words of advice, got the hang of it and did a wonderful job of documenting this class event!

I didn't use just one picture for my picture of the week, this series of pictures is after J finally relinquished my camera and went to work during his turn to make pizza!  Great picture taking J, and I hope that pizza tasted as good as it looked!

Love Mom :)
